What Is TS EAPCET?
TS EAPCET replaced the old name TS EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical CET) after medical admissions moved to NEET. Students still commonly search for it as "EAMCET". Your EAPCET rank decides which college and branch you get in Telangana's web counselling.
Who Can Apply?
- Engineering: Class 12 (Intermediate) or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, passed or appearing.
- Agriculture & Pharmacy: Class 12 with Biology/Botany and Zoology, Physics and Chemistry (Mathematics is accepted for some pharmacy courses).
- Minimum age of 16 years by 31 December of the admission year (17 for some agriculture and pharmacy courses).
- Local and non-local status and minimum marks for admission are explained in the official notification; check them every year.
TS EAPCET Exam Pattern
- Engineering stream: Mathematics 80, Physics 40, Chemistry 40 questions
- Agriculture & Pharmacy stream: Biology 80 (Botany 40, Zoology 40), Physics 40, Chemistry 40 questions
- Total: 160 multiple-choice questions, 160 marks
- Duration: 3 hours
- Negative marking: None
Each correct answer earns 1 mark and wrong answers lose nothing, so attempt every question. The exam runs in several sessions, and scores are normalised across sessions before ranks are given.
Syllabus
The syllabus is based on the Telangana Intermediate (Class 11 and 12) Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology syllabus. Students from CBSE and other boards should check the official syllabus PDF on eapcet.tgche.ac.in for topics that differ from their board.
Qualifying Marks and Rank
To get a rank, OC and BC candidates need at least 25% of the total marks (40 out of 160). There is no minimum qualifying mark for SC and ST candidates. Ranks are given on the basis of your normalised EAPCET score.
