The full form of COMEDK is the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. While it initially managed admissions for medical and dental seats, these are now handled via NEET, and COMEDK focuses primarily on the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) for Engineering.

Over the years, COMEDK has transitioned from a paper-pencil test to a sophisticated Computer Based Test (CBT). It has grown to become one of the most competitive exams in India, attracting over 70,000 to 1,00,000 applicants annually who vie for approximately 20,000 engineering seats in top-tier private institutions like RVCE and MSRIT.

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for COMEDK 2026:

• Qualifying Exam: Must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State/Central Government.
• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are compulsory subjects with English as a language subject.
• Minimum Marks: General category candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 45% in PCM. SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka state require 40%.
• Diploma Holders: Diploma candidates are not eligible for COMEDK UGET; they typically apply through lateral entry schemes like DCET.

The application process for 2026 is entirely online:

1. Registration: Create a profile on the official website using a valid email and phone number.
2. Fill Application: Enter personal, academic, and category details.
3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, and ID proof.
4. Test City Selection: Choose preferred exam centers from the available list.
5. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee (approx. INR 1,800 + taxes) via Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.

The COMEDK UGET 2026 examination covers three primary subjects:

The COMEDK 2026 Result will be declared in the form of a Rank Card. Candidates can download it by logging into their applicant portal. The rank card will display the candidate's score in each subject, total score, and the All India Rank (AIR).

Once results are declared, candidates must participate in the centralized online counselling. They must upload their documents for verification. Only candidates with verified documents are allowed to fill choices of colleges and branches based on their rank.

The counselling process for 2026 involves:
