Lifestyle Accessory Design (LAD) is a specialized branch of design that focuses on creating functional and aesthetic personal and home products. It spans a wide range of categories including jewelry, watches, footwear, leather goods, luggage, lighting, and home decor. Unlike core fashion design which focuses primarily on apparel, LAD emphasizes the objects that complement a lifestyle.

The course integrates traditional craft skills with modern technology, such as 3D printing and CAD, to prepare students for the global luxury and consumer goods market. Students learn about material properties (metal, wood, leather, plastic, ceramics), ergonomics, and consumer behavior to design products that are both trendy and utilitarian.

• Undergraduate (B.Des): Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board. There is usually an age limit (typically 24 years for general category) for institutes like NIFT.
