Over the years, MAT has evolved from a traditional paper-and-pencil test to a highly flexible examination offering multiple digital modes. Since the pandemic, the Internet Based Test (IBT) mode has gained immense popularity, allowing students to take the exam from the safety of their homes. The exam content is regularly updated to align with the changing requirements of the corporate and management landscape in India.

The eligibility criteria for MAT 2026 are as follows:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Final Year Students: Students in the final year of their degree course (UG) are also eligible to apply.
• Minimum Marks: There is no specific minimum percentage required by AIMA, though individual participating universities may have their own cut-offs.
• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in the MAT exam.

The cut-off for MAT 2026 varies significantly by institution. Top-tier private B-schools often require a percentile of 80 to 95+. Mid-tier colleges may accept scores in the 60 to 75 percentile range. Factors affecting the cut-off include the number of applicants, exam difficulty, and seat availability.
