The Telangana government fixed B.Tech tuition fees for private colleges for the 2025-26 to 2027-28 block period through G.O.Ms.No.06, dated 4 March 2026. As reported from that order:

• GRIET: ₹1,60,500 per year
• MGIT: ₹1,67,000 per year

This is tuition fee only. Colleges also charge other fees such as university (affiliation) fee, special fee and admission-time charges. For example, GRIET's 2026 admission notice lists a JNTUH affiliation fee of ₹5,500 and an NBA fee of ₹800 among the amounts paid at the time of joining. Always check the college's own fee notice at reporting time.

Location: Which Is Easier to Reach?

• GRIET (Bachupally) is in the north-west of Hyderabad, close to Kukatpally, Nizampet and Miyapur. Students living in these areas find it convenient.
• MGIT (Gandipet) is in the west, near Kokapet and Narsingi, close to the Financial District side of the city.

Travel time matters for four years. Before you lock your options, check how long it will take you to reach each college by bus or college transport.

GRIET or MGIT: How to Decide

1. Check your rank first. If your rank is below about 4,500 (OC), GRIET CSE is within reach based on 2025 data. If your rank is between 5,000 and 7,500, MGIT's CSE, AI & ML and Data Science branches are realistic, along with GRIET's ECE and CSB.
2. Branch first, college second. If you really want CSE or AI & ML, a computer branch at MGIT may suit you better than a non-computer branch at GRIET, and vice versa if you love electronics.
3. Look at total cost. Add tuition fee, other fees, transport and hostel. The tuition difference between the two is ₹6,500 a year.
4. Visit if you can. Look at labs, library, classrooms and talk to current students.
