TG ICET Exam Pattern

  • Section A: Analytical Ability: 75 questions (data sufficiency and problem solving)
  • Section B: Mathematical Ability: 75 questions (arithmetic, algebra, geometry and statistics)
  • Section C: Communication Ability: 50 questions (vocabulary, grammar, reading and business terminology)
  • Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 150 minutes

Each correct answer earns 1 mark and there is no negative marking, so attempt every question. The test has several sessions, and scores are normalised across sessions.

Qualifying Marks

To get a rank, OC and BC candidates need at least 25% (50 out of 200). There is no minimum qualifying mark for SC and ST candidates. Check the official notification each year.

Application Fee (2026)

₹750 for General and BC candidates and ₹550 for SC, ST and differently-abled candidates, with late fees after the normal deadline. The 2027 fee will be in the new notification.

How to Prepare

  1. Mathematical Ability carries 75 marks and rewards practice. Revise percentages, ratios, profit and loss, time and work, and basic statistics.
  2. Analytical Ability: practise data sufficiency daily; it is the most scoring area once you learn the method.
  3. Communication Ability: read an English newspaper daily and learn common business terms.
  4. Speed matters: 200 questions in 150 minutes means under 45 seconds a question. Take timed mock tests from January.
  5. No negative marking: never leave a question blank.

Admission After TG ICET

Convener-quota seats are filled through online web counselling on tgicet.nic.in, where you register, verify certificates and choose colleges. Management-quota seats are filled by colleges under state rules. Many top private B-schools in Hyderabad also accept CAT, XAT or MAT scores alongside TG ICET.
