The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has announced the launch of a new specialized two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Digital Transformation, set to begin with the 2026-28 academic session. This move reflects the growing demand in the corporate sector for managers who possess both leadership skills and a deep understanding of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Data Analytics.

The curriculum for this new program has been designed in consultation with industry leaders from top tech firms and global consultancy agencies. It will cover a wide range of subjects, including Digital Marketing Analytics, Cybersecurity for Managers, Agile Project Management, and AI Ethics. Unlike the traditional general MBA, this program will feature a higher percentage of laboratory-based learning and live projects with tech startups and established digital giants.

Admission to this specialized track will be highly competitive. Candidates who appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 and met the high percentile requirements will be shortlisted for the next round. The selection process will involve a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI), where candidates will be evaluated on their technical aptitude and business acumen. IIM Lucknow has clarified that while a background in engineering or IT is not mandatory, it would be beneficial for students to have a basic understanding of quantitative methods.

Professor Sandeep Mallick, Director of IIM Lucknow, stated, "The Indian economy is undergoing a massive digital overhaul. Our goal is to produce leaders who don't just manage businesses but drive innovation through technology. This program is a step toward future-proofing our graduates against the rapidly changing job market." The institute also plans to offer international immersion programs as part of this course, allowing students to visit tech hubs in Singapore and Silicon Valley.

Placement prospects for this program look promising, with several FinTech and E-commerce companies already expressing interest in the first batch. The fee structure for the PGP in Digital Transformation is expected to be slightly higher than the standard PGP due to the specialized infrastructure and international modules involved. Prospective students can find the detailed brochure and seat matrix on the IIM Lucknow official website starting next week.
