The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the opening of the correction window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026. Candidates who have successfully submitted their applications but noticed errors in their personal or academic details can now log in to the official NEET portal to make the necessary changes. This window will remain active from today, March 24, until 11:50 PM on March 28, 2026.

According to the NTA notification, candidates are allowed to edit specific fields including their name, date of birth, gender, category, sub-category, and educational qualification details. However, certain fields like the registered mobile number, email address, and permanent address remain non-editable for security reasons. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories who wish to change their category may be required to pay an additional fee if the change leads to a higher application fee tier.

This year, NEET UG is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026, across 550 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The exam continues to be the single entrance gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses in all medical colleges, including AIIMS and JIPMER. With over 22 lakh registrations recorded this year, the competition is expected to be tougher than ever. The NTA has advised students to be extremely careful during this correction phase, as no further opportunities for editing will be provided under any circumstances.

To access the correction facility, students must visit the official website (exams.nta.ac.in/NEET) and log in using their application number and password. After making the changes, a revised 'Confirmation Page' will be generated, which the candidates must download and preserve for future reference. The NTA has also set up a dedicated helpdesk to assist students who face technical glitches during the process.

In addition to the correction window, the NTA has also clarified the dress code and prohibited items for the exam day. Strict biometric verification and frisking will be conducted at all centers. Students are encouraged to utilize this time to focus on their revision, specifically focusing on the NCERT syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology), which remains the core foundation for the NEET question paper.
