The primary entrance exam is the CMA Foundation Exam. It is conducted twice a year by ICMAI. For those entering through the Graduate route, the Foundation exam is exempted, and they can directly enroll for the Intermediate level.

The exams are typically computer-based and consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for the Foundation level, while Intermediate and Final levels involve descriptive papers.
