Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering

• Full name: Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME)
• Location: Secunderabad, Telangana
• Type: Indian Army training institution of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). It is not a civilian college, so there is no direct admission.
• Who trains here: Cadets of the Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) in the "Elect & Mech Engg." stream, and Army personnel of the Corps of EME
• Degree for TES cadets: Engineering degree awarded through Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

Students reach MCEME through the Indian Army 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES). Eligibility under TES-55 (course starting July 2026):

• Unmarried male candidates
• Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with at least 60% aggregate
• Must have appeared in JEE Main (previous year)
• Age 16½ to 19½ years on the course start date

Selection: Online application on the Join Indian Army website, then shortlisting, a 5-day SSB interview and a medical examination. Check each new notification, as rules can change between batches.

• Total duration: 4 years
• Phase 1 (3 years): Technical training at a Cadet Training Wing. MCEME Secunderabad runs the "Elect & Mech Engg." stream (Corps of EME). CME Pune runs Civil and Mechanical (Corps of Engineers), and MCTE Mhow runs Telecom and IT (Corps of Signals).
• Phase 2 (1 year): Military training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
• Vacancies: 90 in total across all three wings for TES-55 (provisional)

• Cadets are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army with a permanent commission.
• Pay is at Level 10 of the pay matrix (₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 a month), plus Military Service Pay and allowances.
• There is no tuition fee. A stipend is paid during the final year at IMA, as per Army rules.
