AMRUT INSTITUTE JUNAGARGH (BCA COLLEGE)

Amrut Institute Junagadh is a premier educational hub located in the historic city of Junagadh, Gujarat. Established to provide high-quality technical and professional education, the BCA college is affiliated with Saurashtra University. The institute is known for its focus on bridging the gap between academic theory and industry requirements in the Saurashtra region.

• Established: 2008
• Affiliation: Saurashtra University, Rajkot
• Location: Khadiya, Junagadh, Gujarat
• Primary Focus: Computer Applications and Information Technology
• Campus Life: Modern infrastructure amidst the scenic backdrop of Girnar Hills
• Student Support: Dedicated placement cell and skill development workshops

The core focus of the institute is its Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program. This program is designed to produce skilled IT professionals capable of handling modern software development and database management tasks.

• BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): A 3-year undergraduate degree focusing on programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python), Web Development, and Database Management Systems.
• PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications): A 1-year intensive course for graduates looking to pivot into the IT sector.

The BCA program remains the most sought-after due to its high placement record in the regional IT hubs of Rajkot and Ahmedabad.

Admission to the BCA program for the 2026 academic year is primarily merit-based, following the guidelines set by Saurashtra University. Candidates are evaluated based on their performance in the 10+2 examinations.

Applicants must have passed 12th standard in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) with English as a compulsory subject. Some weightage may be given to candidates with Mathematics or Statistics background.

Note: Check exact dates on the official exam and college websites.

Note: These are approximate figures based on past trends, not official cutoffs. Check the latest official counselling cutoff before applying.

The cutoff for 2026 will depend on the overall performance of students in the Gujarat State Board (GSHSEB) and CBSE exams. Expected merit requirements are as follows:

• General Category: 65% - 75% in 12th Boards
• OBC/SEBC Category: 60% - 70% in 12th Boards
• SC/ST Category: 50% - 55% in 12th Boards

Note: These percentages are indicative based on previous years' trends. Admission is highly competitive due to the limited number of seats in the BCA division.

Note: Placement figures are indicative and not taken from the official placement report of the college. Please confirm with the college.

The 2025 placement season saw a steady rise in recruitment from local IT startups and mid-sized firms. The institute's placement cell focuses on the Rajkot-Junagadh industrial belt.

Key recruiters included regional players like Radixweb, TatvaSoft (during off-campus drives), and local Junagadh-based IT solutions providers.
