About TBSE
The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) is the primary state-level board of education in the Indian state of Tripura. It is responsible for the promotion and development of secondary and higher secondary education in the state. The board conducts the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) and the Higher Secondary (+2) examinations annually.
The board operates with the goal of providing quality education and maintaining a uniform standard across all its affiliated schools. You can visit the official portal at tbse.tripura.gov.in for more details.
TBSE - History & Background
The Tripura Board of Secondary Education was established in 1973 under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education Act, passed by the Tripura Legislative Assembly. However, the board only started functioning effectively from January 1, 1976.
Before the formation of TBSE, schools in Tripura were affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. The creation of a dedicated state board allowed for a curriculum that better reflected the local culture and educational needs of the students in Tripura.
Affiliated Schools & States Under TBSE
TBSE's jurisdiction is limited to the state of Tripura. It oversees a wide network of schools including:
- Government Schools
- Government-Aided Schools
- Private Unaided Schools
Most schools in Agartala and other districts like West Tripura, South Tripura, and Dhalai follow the TBSE curriculum for their secondary and higher secondary levels.
