The NBSE was set up through an Act of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1973 and started functioning on 1st October 1974. NBSE Class 10 Exam - Pattern, Syllabus & Grading

NBSE Class 12 Exam - Pattern, Syllabus & Grading

NBSE 2026 Exam Dates & Schedule
The NBSE 2026 Board Exams are tentatively scheduled to be held in February and March 2026. The official time table is usually released in December or January.
- HSLC (Class 10) 2026: Expected to start in the second week of February 2026.
- HSSLC (Class 12) 2026: Expected to start in the first week of February 2026.

NBSE Eligibility & Registration Process
To appear for the NBSE board exams, students must meet the following criteria:
- Regular Students: Must have the required attendance in an NBSE-affiliated school and pass the internal selection tests.

Registration for the 2026 exams is usually handled by the respective schools through the NBSE Online Portal during the months of August and September.

To pass the NBSE HSLC and HSSLC exams, a student must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject (both theory and internal/practical combined). The board releases results online approximately 45-60 days after the completion of the exams.
