The Class 12 (HSC) exam is conducted across three primary streams: Science, Commerce, and Arts. There is also a Vocational stream (MCVC).

To pass the SSC or HSC exams, a student must score a minimum of 35% marks in both theory and practical exams combined for most subjects. For subjects with practical components, students must also appear for the practical/internal assessment to be eligible for passing.
