The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER), popularly known as RBSE, is a state-level authority responsible for the promotion and development of secondary education in the state of Rajasthan. RBSE - History & Background
The Board was established on December 4, 1957, under the Rajasthan Secondary Education Act. It was initially set up in Jaipur but was later shifted to Ajmer in 1961. Over the decades, RBSE has evolved into one of the most prominent state education boards in India, managing the academic future of millions of students.
The board began with a small number of schools and students but has now expanded to oversee over 6,000 affiliated schools. It has been instrumental in implementing educational reforms and modernizing the examination process in the state.
Affiliated Schools & States Under RBSE
RBSE strictly operates within the territorial jurisdiction of the state of Rajasthan. All government schools and many private schools in the 33 districts of Rajasthan are affiliated with this board. The board does not have jurisdiction over schools outside the state.

RBSE Class 10 Exam - Pattern, Syllabus & Grading

RBSE Class 12 Exam - Pattern, Syllabus & Grading
The Class 12 (Senior Secondary) examinations are conducted for three main streams: Science, Commerce, and Arts. Students must appear for compulsory subjects (Hindi and English) and three elective subjects specific to their chosen stream.
- Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics.
- Commerce: Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics.
- Arts: History, Geography, Political Science, etc.

RBSE 2026 Exam Dates & Schedule
The RBSE 2026 Exams for Class 10 and 12 are expected to be held in March and April 2026. The board typically releases the detailed time table in December 2025 or January 2026.
- Class 12 Exams: Expected to start in the first week of March 2026.
- Class 10 Exams: Expected to start in the second week of March 2026.
- Practical Exams: Usually conducted in January or February 2026.

RBSE Eligibility & Registration Process
Students who have successfully passed the previous class (Class 9 for Secondary and Class 11 for Senior Secondary) from a recognized board are eligible to register for the RBSE board exams.
- Regular Students: Registration is handled by the respective schools through the board's online portal.
- Private Students: Candidates can fill out the application form through authorized centers or the official website.
Registration usually requires a valid ID proof, previous year marksheet, and the prescribed examination fee.
RBSE Results & Passing Criteria
To pass the RBSE exams, a student must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject (both theory and practical separately, where applicable) and in aggregate. Results are published on the official results portal.
Students who fail in one or two subjects are eligible to appear for the Supplementary Examinations, which are typically held in July or August to provide a second chance in the same academic year.
